Heavy rains forecast in coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Goa
Pune, Oct 8 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at many places in south Konkan and Goa.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, north Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, and interior Karnataka.
The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Kerala. It has been subdued over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in south Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and northwest Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of east Rajasthan. They were above normal in north Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, and were below normal in west Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and north Madhya Pradesh and were above normal in Gujarat and in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.
Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Kerala, while heavy rains have occurred at isolated places in Konkan and Goa.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in coastal Karnataka and at a few places in Marathwada, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra, and interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat and Telangana.
