Gehlot charges BJP government with feudal mind set and insensitivity
Jaipur, Oct 8 (UNI) Charging the stat government with feudal mindset Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said the flood ravaged Barmer district is in the grip of seasonal diseases with the health department measures not matching the seriousness of the situation there.
Speaking to mediapersons here today after visitng the flood affected villages the former Chief Minister said the villagers had complained that not a single house hold was without the cases of viral and Malaria affliction. Mr Gehlot called for urgent measures to tackle the situation.
He said the villagers also demanded setting up of temporary schools adjoining to the relief camps as the study of the children was adversely affected. The villagers also demanded seperate accommodation for women especially pregnant women in the camps, he said.
Mr Gehlot said though the government has promised waiving of loans of the farmers but till now the government has only decided to waive the interest of the loans he demanded that the flood affected farmers should be given immediate relief by waiving of loans.
He asked the government to take measures to resettle the affected villagers as pumping out of water from the marooned villages was a time consuming affair.
The Former Chief Minister lambasted the Vasundhara Raje govermemnt with feudal mind set. He said for the last four months the post of collector was laying vaccant and the government was yet to appoint someone while it has put on awaited posting seven IAS officers.
