Varanasi, Oct 8 (UNI) Seven dengue patients are undergoing treatment at two hospitals here.

Official spokesperson of Heritage Hospital Ajay Rai said here today that six confirmed cases of dengue fever were presently being treated at a separate ward of the private hospital.

Mr Rai further informed that of the six patients down with the vector-borne disease, three were admitted yesterday, including police inspector Sanjay Singh posted at the Dashwashamedh police station.

He also said that two dengue patients, including British national Adam James, who were admitted at the hospital last week have been discharged after being cured completely.

Another dengue patient was being treated at the Sir Sunder Lal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) A P Singh told UNI that the health department has sent blood samples of four of the six dengue patients admitted at the Heritage Hospital, for cross-verification at BHU hospital.

Dr Singh also said that Rapid Action Kits have been provided to the District Hospital and Deendayal Hospital for cost free testing of blood samples of suspected dengue patients. The patients whose blood samples test positive for dengue fever will be treated free of cost at the two hospitals, he added.

Also, two wards have been reserved at these hospitals exclusively for treatment of dengue. Besides, mosquito nets have also been provided to these newly constituted dengue wards for preventing the spread of dengue fever, Dr Singh added.
