10.47 lakh metric tonnes paddy procured in Haryana

Chandigarh, Oct 8 (UNI) The six government procuring agencies have procured 7.83 lakh metric tonnes of paddy out of 10.47 lakh metric tonnes which has arrived in the 173 mandis of Haryana so far.

Disclosing this here today Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that out of the total arrivals in the mandis, 2.64 lakh metric tonnes was purchased by the private millers and traders, which includes 1.53 lakh metric tonnes leviable and 1.10 lakh metric tonnes non-leviable.

Mr Chander Mohan who also holds the Food and Supplies portfolio said that Hafed had procured 3.32 lakh metric tonnes of paddy followed by Food and Supplies Department with 2.66 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation 97,424 metric tonnes, Confed 52,569 metric tonnes and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 30,624 metric tonnes. The Food Corporation of India had procured 4,022 metric tonnes.

He said that Kurukshetra district was still leading in the arrival of paddy with 2.87 lakh metric tonnes of paddy followed by Karnal with 2.34 lakh metric tonnes. Fatehabad district had procured 1.80 lakh metric tonnes and Kaithal 1.48 lakh metric tonnes.
