Railway pays Rs 13 crore to land owners in Doda

Jammu, Oct 7 (UNI) An amount of over Rs 13 crore have been paid to the land owners in Bhaderwah and Ramban area in Doda district on account of land cost, structure building and trees acquired by the Railway department for laying railway tracks and other infrastructure.

This was disclosed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban in the meeting of collectors at Doda convened by the District Development Commissioner, Dr Pawan Kotwal here today.

The meeting was held to sort out compensation issues with the land owners of various parts of the district who's land has been or is being proposed to be acquired for construction of roads, buildings and tourism infrastructure mostly in Bhaderwah tehsil of the district.

The Bhaderwah tehsil's 630 kanals of land is being acquired at first instance under the aegis of Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) for creating of tourist huts, approach roads to tourist reception centre, office building for BDA and for other basic developments of tourist interest sights in the area.
