No improvement in education system in Bihar : Fatmi
Darbhanga, Oct 7 (UNI) Union minister of state for human resource development M M A Fatmi today flayed the NDA government in Bihar for its 'failure' in improving the education system despite allocation of huge central funds.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Fatmi said Bihar had received a fair allocation of Rs 2400 crores in the union budget for education and Rs 1300 crores expended for construction of school buildings in the state.
'' No improvement in the academic scenerio of Bihar is visible.
The funds made available by the Centre is lying unspent with the state government,'' he rued.
He appealed to all concerned to avoid mingling politics with development of education and emphasised on concerted and sustained effort to bring about a change on the education front.
Regarding Kasturba Gandhi residential girls' school, Mr Fatimi said of 129 fresh proposals to establish such schools, as many as 64 would be set up in Bihar. Besides providing free education, lodging and meals, scholarships would also be granted to the students of such schools, where 75 per cent of seats would be reserved for girls from backward classes, minorities and scheduled castes, he added.
