Mudumalai set to become Tiger Sanctuary: Official
Coimbatore, Oct 7 (UNI) Zonal Forest Conserver P C Thiyagi said the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary will be soon declared as a ''Tiger Sanctuary.'' Talking to newspersons at Udhagamandalam in Nilgiri District, yesterday he said 400 acre of forest land coming under the sanctuary will be allocated for the purpose.
He also said farmers living close to the sanctuary will not be affected and proper rules and regulations will be followed for tourist lodges located nearby.
Mr Thiyagi said solar power fence will be erected in Coimbatore District to prevent man-elephant conflict.
