Meghalaya police arrested another UNLF facilitator

Shillong, Oct 7 (UNI) Meghalaya police has arrested three cadres of the Manipur-based United National Liberation Front (UNLF) from New Delhi.

They have also arrested Karom Lamin for abetting the insurgent activities in Manipur.

Lamin was arrested here yesterday after surrendering himself before the Special Operation Team (SOT).

'' We have been hunting him for sometime,'' East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police A R Mawthoh told UNI here.

He also said the four arrested UNLF cadres here have confessed that Lamin had helped them to cross the international border.

Lamin's arrest gained a lot of significance for both Delhi and Meghalaya Police, who are investigating the modus-operandi of the group and their external links.

The SOT have also nabbed a group of four UNLF militants on September 27, suspected to be the members of its finance wing, while they were trying to escape from here.

About Rs two million along with several SIM cards of Bangladesh Grameen Mobile Company were recovered from their luggage, police said.

After five days, the Delhi Police arrested three UNLF cadres while they were trying to flee to Kathmandu and seized a pen drive and compact disc from them.
