Five killed as jeep rams into stationary truck

Bidar, Karnataka, Oct 7 (UNI) Five people were killed and 14 others were injured when a jeep, in which they were travelling, rammed into a stationary lorry at Meen Kero cross, near here today.

Police said the ill-fated jeep, carrying agriculture labourers, was proceeding to Hyderabad from Latur in Maharashtra.

While four were killed on the spot, another died in the hospital. The injured had been admitted to Umargaon hospital in Maharashtra.

The dead were identified as Samsiddin (25), Namdev (30), Vittal(35), Javed(20) and Khandu (28). The driver of the jeep had been arrested, police added.
