New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said the situation arising out of dengue in Delhi is under control and there is enough blood and platelets to meet the growing demand.

''The Delhi Government would provide all possible help to dengue patients and there is no need to panic or harbour apprehensions,'' Ms Dikshit said during her visit to GTB hospital.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to intensify the anti-dengue drive, including instructions to schools and asking every Minister to ensure the disease does not spread in other areas.

She instructed senior Health officials to organise Blood Donation Camps to meet growing demand of the blood and platelets.

About 2,400 volunteers have been deployed for proper fogging and spraying in Delhi's affected areas.

Ms Dikshit said the Union Government has provided granule to Delhi to kill the larva of Aedes mosquito, which causes dengue.

''School students have been advised to wear full length uniform to avoid aedes mosquito bite,'' she added.

The MCD has set up 24-hour round-the-clock Control Room and 60-70 three-wheelers have been deployed to create publicity about dengue.

The Chief Minister instructed senior health officials to depute doctors in various hospitals to monitor dengue patients regularly.
