Court rejects bail plea of rape accused

Jammu, Oct 7 (UNI) A local court of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir today rejected the bail plea of a rape accused and sentenced him to judicial custody.

The chief judicial magistrate of Kathua (CJM) district Virender Singh Bhau today while rejecting the bail plea of the rape accused observed that the accused, Amin, son of Bashir Ahmed hailing from Bilawar, had in fact committed the crime.

The judge further observed that since the investigation is still in progress and releasing the accused on bail would weaken the investigation process.

According to the chief prosecuting officer Ravinder Rao, the accused had kidnapped the girl from Kathua on September 12, and raped her. The girl was recovered by the police on September 18 with the accused in New Delhi.
