Kozhikode, Oct 7 (UNI) The Railway Contract Catering Workers Union (RCCW) today began a 101-hour dharna here to press pending demands.

The sit-in protest, organised as part of a state-wide agitation, was inaugurated by All India Democratic Women's Association leader P Sathidevi, MP, before the Kozhikode Railway Station.

Leaders of the RCCW, affiliated to the CITU, demanded protection of jobs and decent wages for workers in the event of changing licensees in the sector.

The leaders also wanted a change in the catering policy, which they described as 'anti-commuter'.
