Businessman alleges valuable worth lakhs missing from locker
New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) Police today registered a complaint against 'unknown persons' after a businessman complained that jewellery worth lakhs were missing from the locker of his bank in Rajouri Garden area of West Delhi.
In his complaint Amarjit Singh, a businessman dealing in tyres, said he did not find the valuables kept in his locker this morning at about 1100 hrs after which he complained to the bank management which asked him to check whether he himself had not taken them out.
Following this he lodged a complaint with the police that valuables which included four gold coins, 15 gold bangles and a dozen-odd gold coins among other things were missing from his locker of Canara Bank Rajouri Garden branch.
He also said that the bank had issued 'warning letters' to several locker holders that their 'goods' would be 'confiscated' or 'destroyed' if they did not pay their locker rents on time.
Records said Amarjit had last opened his locker in 2004.
Police said it was investigating the case.
