Ankita Das, Sathiyan enter finals of TT championship

Vijayawada, Oct 7 (UNI) Top seeds Anikta Das of Bengal and G Sathiyan of Tamil Nadu today entered the final in the Sub-Junior Girls and Boys in the National Ranking Table Tennis Championship here this afternoon.

In the semi-finals, Ankita trounced fourth seed N Vidya of Tamil Nadu in straight sets 11-6,11-6,11-5,11-5 in girl's section while Sathiyan pipped Seventh Seed Sanmay Paranjape of Maharashtra 12-10,11-4,12-10,11-7 in the boy's section.

Third seed V Senha of Tamil Nadu, who upset second seed Medha Moitra 11-8,12-10,7-11,13-11,9-11,6-11,12-10 in the another semi-final, will take on ankita in the Sub-Junior Girl's final.

Second seed Sourav Saha of PSPBA who crushed third seed harmeet desai of Gujarat 9-11,7-11,11-3,7-11,11-9,11-8,11-5 will take on Sathiyan in Sub-Junior Boy's final.

In the youth girls singles semi-final matches, second seed Neha Aggarwal of Delhi stunned Prajakta Tipale of RSPB 11-7,11-7,12-10,7-11,11-6 while fourth seed divya deshapande of Maharashtra beat Soumi Soumi Mondal of RSPB.

11-8,11-9,10-12,11-8,6-11,11-9 to enter the final.

In the youth boys singles semi-finals, top seed Zubin Kumar of PSPBA ousted fourth seed Omkar Toglekar of Maharashtra 6-11,10-12,11-9,11-4,6-11,11-8,11-9 and seventh seed R Abhishek of ib toppled sixth seed Sanil Shetty of Maharashtra 11-5,14-12,11-8,12-10 to Breeze into the finals.

In the final, Neha Aggarwal will take on Divya Deshpande while Zubin Kumar will play R Abhishek.

In the Junior Girls Singles Quarterfinals, ninth seed Shreya Ghosh of West Bengal beat Mrunmayee Mhatre of Maharashtra 7-11,11-8,11-4,12-10,11-5 to enter the semi finals. Third seed Divya Deshpande of Maharashtra defeated Swetha Kumaravel of Tamil Nadu 11-7,11-6,10-12,11-7,11-7 while Pooja Sahasrabuddhe of Maharashtra overcame Sanya Sehgal of Delhi 11-9,11-8,11-7,7-11,8-11,11-7. Second seed Prajatka Tipale of RSPB beat Tonanya Dutta of North Bengal in straight sets 11-7,11-6,11-5,11-8 to move into semis.

In the Junior Boys Singles Quarterfinals, eighth seed Shubham Sarma of Andhra Pradesh shocked first seed g.Sathiyan of tamil nadu to win 14-12,11-8,12-10,11-6 and entered the semis.

Fourth seed Soumyajit Ghosh of North Bengal beat fifth seed Sourav Saha of PSPBA 11-3,12-10,8-11,11-8,9-11,9-11,17-15, third seed Mohit Verma of PSPBA defeated Sushovan Das of West Bengal 7-11,11-7,11-9,11-6,11-9 and V Nitin of PSPBA ousted Harmeet Desai of Gujarat 11-3,11-8,11-2,8-11,7-11,11-6.
