Air Deccan offers 300,000 tickets for Rs 6
Bangalore, Oct 7: Close on the heels of offering 300,000 tickets at Rs.three to mark its third anniversary, low cost flyer Air Deccan, today announced 300,000 tickets at Rs 6 per ticket (plus taxes) for travel between October 30, 2006 and March 25, 2007.
Bookings open for these tickets on October eight as the airliner continued its innovative way of pricing its tickets.
In a release here Air Deccan Managing Director Capt. G.R Gopinath said, ''We are now giving another opportunity of affordable prices to our passengers by offering 300,000 tickets at Rs six encompassing a huge travel period. This would encourage and enable many more people especially first time fliers and rail passengers to take to the skies''.
In the past, even during peak seasons and holidays Air Deccan had boldly offered tickets for Re one and Rs three as well as a fly for free offer; which received tremendous public response, he added.
He said ''Our month long Destination No.1 campaign is on in full swing and has reinforced our commitment towards being the best and providing the best services to our passengers. We have infact noticed a positive change in passenger perception about the all new AIR DECCAN. To reassure our passengers of our promise, and as part of our campaign till November 30, incase a flight is delayed by more than 3 hours or cancelled on the day of travel, we are offering free tickets to our passengers. We are confident that our innovative and dynamic pricing of tickets along with our commitment of being the best will give us an edge over our competitors and bring us closer to our vision of making air travel commonplace in India .
Since its inception in August 2003, Air Deccan had carried over 6.6 million passengers and the numbers are growing everyday. The airline has recorded an on-time performance (within 1 hour) of 98.33 per cent for August 2006 the release said.
