New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) A top BJP leaders' delegation will call on President A P J Abdul Kalam tomorrow with a view to opposing any move to grant clemency to Mohammad Afzal Guru, sentenced to death for being the mastermind behind the attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001.

The leaders, including Leader of the Opposition L K Advani, party president Rajnath Singh and other leaders available in the national capital, would meet Dr Kalam to express their dismay at the attempts being made by parties like the Congress, the Left and others to grant a pardon to Afzal irrespective of his role in the attack on Parliament, resulting in the killing of 11 security staff.

The BJP had taken its decision to meet the President a few days ago at the residence of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and had opposed the statements of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and others seeking mercy for Afzal.

The party had also taken note of the deteriorating law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where every political party, barring the BJP, was eager to condone the acts of terror.
