3 infiltrators and a soldier killed in Gurez sector

Srinagar, Oct 7 (UNI) Three infiltrators were killed by the security forces in Gurez sector late last night, official sources said.

A Soldier also lost his life in the gun battle.

The sources said security forces guarding the Line of Control (LOC) in Gurez sector noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) late last night under the cover of darkness.

However, when challenged the infiltrators opened fire. The fire was returned and in the fierce gun battle three militants were killed.

Three AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, sources said.

A soldier also lost his life in the encounter.

However, a Defence Ministry spokesman said only three militants were killed.
