20th National U-11 boys and girls championship

Chennai, Oct 7 (UNI) About 300 boys and girls from all over the country will be vying for honours in the 20th National Under-11 chess championship for boys and girls to be held here from November 3.

The competition will be organied as a 11-round Swiss league separately for boys and girls. The prize fund is Rs 69,000.

The top finishers in the championship will represent India at the 2007 Asian and World Under-12 Chess Championship, according to a Tamil Nadu Chess Association press release.

Each state can send two players in each category.
