12 killed in three road accidents in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 (UNI) At least twelve people were killed in three separate road accidents in Orissa today, police said.
Four people were killed at Ramgadmal under Jujomura police station, 40 km from Samabalpur when a vehicle carrying them collided head-on with a truck on NH 42. The deceased had been identified as Chaitali Bhhattacharya, Debashis Bhhattacharya and Nihar Ranjan Bhattacharya besides driver Dillip Kumar Behera.
Three people from another family sustained injuries and were admitted to the VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla.
In another incident at Chhuriabahal near Deogarh on NH 6, four people were killed when the vehicle carrying them collided with another. The deceased were proceeding towards Baripada to attend a funeral ceremony of their relative when the incident took place.
The deceased were identified as Chandra Shekhar Giri, his wife Geetanjali and their daughter Debidatta.
The driver, who died in the accident, was yet to be identified.
A report from Malkangiri said four tribal labourers, all women were killed and three others injured when a tractor carrying them overturned while negotiating a curve near MV85 village.The labourers were returning to Jhariapali when the mishap took place.
All the four women labourers died on the spot. The three injured were admitted to the Malkangiri hospital, sources said.
