YSR hails Centre's decision to revive 'Garibi Hatao'

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today hailed the Centre's decision to re-introduce the 20-point programme with the slogan of 'Garibi Hatao', implemented by the Congress Government under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during 1970s.

According to an official release here, Dr Reddy said the Congress- led UPA Government's novel step would boost the state government's efforts to take up INIDRAMMA scheme in letter and spirit. The government would implement the scheme as a movement to eradicate poverty on the pattern of the 20-point programme.

Stating that 'Garibi Hatao' was not only a slogan but also a vehicle for the development of the country in all spheres, he said the first phase review meetings on the implementation of INDIRAMMA scheme would be conducted every Sunday and Monday in Chittor, Anantapur, Mahaboob Nagar, Kadapa, Prakasham, kurnool, Guntru and Krishna districts.
