SGPC to setup own control room after threat to Golden Temple
Patiala, Oct 6 (UNI) The SGPC will setup its own control room equipped with latest electronic gadgets and approach NRIs Sikhs for ensure the safety of Golden Temple in wake of alleged threats to the shrine from Lashkar-e-Toiba militants.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committe (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar today said they will also take assistance from NRI Sikhs for setting up a foolproof security system in the holy complex. Two CCTVs have been installed by the district administration for providing security to the Golden Temple.
Stressing that they were not taking the LeT threat to blow up the holiest of the Sikh shrines lightly, Mr Makkar said that SGPC will also form its own round-the-clock high tech control room in Golden Temple complex and will install more CCTVs at strategic points.
The security in the complex has further been tightened and the 'Gathri Ghar' (Baggage House) situated near Akal Takht had been shifted. Over 200 persons of SGPC task force were deployed to avert any untoward incident.
