Sensex down 12 pts in intra-noon trade
Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) in intra-noon trade lost some steam and came down 12 points as selling in Banking, FMCG, and Health Care sectors put pressure on the index.
FMCG was down by 1.01 per cent, Bankex by 0.17 per cent and Health by 0.11 per cent.
India's wholesale price index rose 4.77 per cent, in the twelve months to 23 September 2006, higher than 4.56 per cent a week earlier, due to higher food, mineral and manufactured product prices, data showed on Friday.
Major gaienrs on the index were Hindalco, Gujarat Ambuja, Reliance Communications, HDFC Bank, BHEL, ACC and L&T all up between 0.69 to 2.23 per cent.
Besides the losers were HDFC, HLL, ITC, Satyam, Grasim Industries and TCS all down between 0.71 to 1.57 per cent.
