Rupee further gains 5 paise to close at 45.59/USD

Mumbai, Oct 6: Indian Rupee today gained five paise to close at Rs 45.59 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 45.64 per USD, as rupee gained globally against all currencies, a money market trader said.

Earlier Rupee opened flat at Rs 45.66/68 per US Dollar and in the mid morning traded at Rs 45.59/60 per US Dollar.

The six month forward premia was fixed at 1.37 per cent and the One year premia was at 1.38 per cent.

The Reseve Bank Of India today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 45.61 per US Dollar compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.71 per US Dollar.

The performance of Rupee against other currencies was extremely improved, against Euro Rupee closed at Rs 57.40 (58.06), against Pound Sterling it closed Rs 85.30 (85.94), and against Yen it was up at Rs 38.40 (38.83).
