Rs 653 lakh granted for development in Rajouri during FY06
Jammu, Oct 6 (UNI) The Government had provided Rs 653.03 lakh to deserving people under Indira Awas Yogna (IAY) and Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) for establishing income-generating units in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir during last fiscal ending March 31, 2006.
As many as 361 Below Poverty Line (BPL) families were provided financial assistance of Rs 97.09 lakh under IAY in the district, while under SGRY -- a central sponsored scheme -- an amount of Rs 489.96 lakh was spent on completion of 1,239 rural works.
Under SGRY, 2.90 lakh mandays were generated in Rajouri during the period, an official statement said.
Simultaneously, Rs 65.98 lakh were spent on establishment of 414 income-generating units besides providing technical skills to 414 'swarozgaries' (self-employed) under the scheme during the reported period, it added.
