''We still have eight or nine countries who possess nuclear weapons. We still have 27,000 warheads in existence. I believe this is 27,000 too many.'' -- International Atomic Energy Agency Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei, while accepting the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.

The IAEA and Egyptian-born ElBaradei won the prize on Oct. 7, 2005, for fighting the spread of nuclear weapons.
