No dengue deaths in state : Andhra Pradesh government

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government today denied media reports that there were dengue deaths in the state till now.

A section of the electronic media reported dengue deaths in Kurnool district, which was denied by State Principal Health Secretary P K Agarwal.

The state government had decided to hold a high-level meeting here on October 8 with officials of the Health, Panchayatiraj, Municipal Administration and Tribal Welfare departments to create a massive awareness among the people, he told UNI.

The meeting would be followed by regional conferences starting with Vijayawada on October 13, said Mr Agarwal, heading a task force constituted by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to take short- term as well as long-term measures to curb mosquito-borne diseases.
