Neha, Omkar enters semis in TT Championship
Vijayawada, Oct 6: The second seed Neha Aggarwal of Delhi and fourth seed Omkar Toglekar of Maharashtra advanced into the semi-finals in the girls and boys singles of the national ranking Table Tennis Championship here this evening.
Neha, who lost the first set to unseeded Niveditha A V of Tamil Nadu won the next straight four sets 9-11, 11-2, 11-4, 11-3, 11-3 in the quarter-final match.
In the other quarter-final in boy's section, Omkar Toglekar (Mah) crushed fifth seed Soumyajit Sarkar of RSPB 7-11, 11-9, 7-11, 5-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-9.
In the sub-junior boys and girls singles quarterfinal matches, first seed Sathiyan G (TN) stunned Anubhav Bagari of the same state 11-4, 6-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-5, 11-4 and clinched a place in the semi.
First seed Ankita Das of North Bengal also barged into the semifinal by defeating eighth seed Divya Rajaram (TN) 11-5, 11-6, 11-4, 11-3 in girl's section.
