Naxals blast Claymore mines injuring 3 cops in AP

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Three police constables were injured in a claymore mine blast in Palakajedi Village of Koyyur Mandal in East Godavari District today.

Police said naxals triggered the blast while the police were engaged in combing operations in the forest. The injured constables were later admitted to a nearby hospital.

Police recovered another claymore mine from the spot.

Earlier in the day, Andhra Pradesh CPI (Maoist) Committee Member and Nallamala Forest Division Committee Secretary Sudharshan alias alias Syamala Venkatesham and two others were killed in an encounter with police near Gunepally in Anantapur District.
