My book deals with the process of making a champion: Chappell

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) Indian cricket coach Greg Chappell today said that his book cricket; 'Making of the Champion' deals with the process of making a champion.

Speaking at a function of the book release here Chappell said, his brother and veteran cricketer Ian Chappell had watched video tapes of many games played by eminent cricketers since 1940 including the greats like Don Bradman to Sachin Tendulkar and found great cricketers have many things in common.

Chappell who is coaching the Indian cricket team said, a coach cannot add much to the player as long as players are not ready to accept. Later talking to reporters Chapell said that he had done various jobs including that of a player, commentator, selector but he found coaching as the most challenging job.

He also said that coach's role with the young cricketers is very critical. Chapell further said Rudy Webstar a sports psychatrist had his role in making the present Indian cricket team and he did it even in West Indies and senior players were also impressed.

Earlier Cricket Club of India's President Raj Singh Dongerpur said, ''Though people say that Chappell has fiddle with the batting order of the present Indian cricket team ''I dont agree that observation.'' Chappell has a theory that all the 14 players should get a chance to play in the Indian eleven. He also anticipated that India would do well in the Champions trophy and the World Cup also.
