Mizo govt to set up monitoring cell for Central schemes
Aizawl, Oct 6 (UNI) The Mizoram government has decided to set up a monitoring team to keep track of all the Centrally sponsored project, being currently implemented in the state.
The state government had already started implementing about 52 newly Centrally sponsored projects under Integrated Wasteland Development Programme in various areas at the total cost of Rs 260 crore.
According to official sources here today, the newly created monitoring committee would keep track of all the records, including the expenditure incurred against the ongoing projects as well as the new one.
The committee, to be headed by the state Principle Secretary, will also have the power to appoint project implementation agencies, creating proper fund management, transparency in implementation, suitable machanism for monitoring and evaluation.
Apart from this, all the Deputy Commissioners in the districts would be instructed for a proper maintenance of records and submission of reports immediately for a smooth fund flow from the Centre.
The monitoring committee would submit all the reports and records of the ongoing projects to the Chief Minister's office every month.
The government had also decided that the state-owned projects such as cultivation of jathropa, turmeric, passion fruits, potatoes, mulberries, besides pisciculture, will be controlled by the monitoring committee.
