Minister signs up 'legal undertaking' to corner TDP
Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Irked by the corruption charges levelled by the TDP in connection with the massive irrigation initiative undertaken by the government, Andhra Pradesh Marketing Minister B Satyanarayana, today sent a 'legal undertaking' to TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
Waving the 'legal undertaking' signed in a stamp paper at a press conference here, Mr Satyanarayana said that it the TDP could prove that he had benefitted directly or indirectly from the Tadipudi and Pushkaram Irrigation Projects as it allegs, Mr Naidu is free to use it for constructing a guest house in Ajmeer in Rajasthan for the benefit of pilgrims visiting the Dargha of Khwaja Moinudd in Chisti or use it for any other purpose''.
''The undertaking is being sent immediately by a registered post to Mr Naidu'', he said.
Congress MLA P Satyanarayana stood witness to the undertaking.
Taking strong objection to former TDP Minister K Vijayarama Rao, alleging that he had no faith in the CBI probe ordered into the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project, he said it was unfortunate that Mr Rao, himself a former CBI Director, stooping to the level of questioning the independence of the premier investigating agency.
On the demand for a probe by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court or High Court into the ORR project, he asked ''What will happen to the democratic system if all retired judges began questioning the integrity of the present judges''.
