Kalam to inaugurate Vivekananda Kendra's silver jubilee

Mysore, Oct 6 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will inaugurate the silver jubilee function of Vivekananda Girijana Kalyana Kendra at B R Hills in Chamarajanagara district of Karnataka on October 15.

The first citizen would also inaugurate the rural resource centre, a nursing college and release a book 'Our Forest, Our Life', according to a release from the Kendra here today.

The President would felicitate C Made Gowda of Banglepodu, the first tribal to get a post graduate degree in social science, and confer the Vivekananda Seva award on nurse Bhagya of Kanneri Colony for efficient implementation of health programmes at Suliga campus, the release said.

Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa would also particiapate in the function, the release added.
