Govt to distribute one lakh acres of land in phase three
Vijayawada, Oct 6 (UNI) Commemorating the completion of golden jubilee celebrations of formation of Andhra Pradesh Government, about one lakh acres of land would be distributed to the landless poor in the third phase on November one.
Addressing a press conference here today, after holding a regional conference with the District Collectors and Joint Collectors of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and West Godavari districts on the issue here, State Revenue Minister Dharamana Prasada Rao said issues pertaining to irrigation projects, Indiramma programme and third phase of land distribution were discussed at the meeting.
Mr Rao said the Collectors had been asked to identify all the lands which could be assigned to the landless poor, which were free from litigations.
The Minister said when the land was distributed, pattas in the name of women beneficiaries would be issued along with pattadar pass books and title deeds.
According to Mr Rao so far the State Government had distributed 3.30 lakh acres of land to 2.20 lakh beneficiaries in the first and second phases.
the collectors had been asked to evince interest in identifying the illegal transactions of assigned lands and take necessary action against such deals, he added.
