Get driving licence within 4 hours in Andaman

Port Blair, Oct 6: Now one can get driving license in Andaman within four hours of the test.

The facility had been extended by the Motor Vehicles Section of the Andaman and Nicobar Police.

'' Recently the Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India has issued directives to all government departments to improve public delivery system. It is in pursuance to this directive that the review of police-public service has been undertaken and the facility extended, '' Mr Jaspal Singh, Andaman Superintendent of Police, told newsmen here today.

'' Whoever would clear the driving test can get the licence on the same day after completion of other formalities such as deposit of licence fee and challans, '' Mr Singh added.

Police had also increased the frequency of conducting driving test from once to twice a week for convenience of public.
