Curfew clamped in Dakshina Kannada villages

Mangalore, Oct 6 (UNI) Curfew has been imposed for 48 hours from this evening in trouble-torn Ullal and Konaje police station limits, near here, following fresh group clashes in the area in which two people were injured.

Inspector General of Police (Western) Satyanarayana Rao told UNI tonight that clashes broke out between two groups belonging to different communities in Ullal, in which windowpanes of a place of worship was damaged in stone pelting.

In retaliation, the other group threw stones at the place of worship of the first group.

Superintendent of Police B Dayanand was camping at Ullal.
