BJP to intensify political activities for coming polls

Imphal, Oct 6 (UNI) The Manipur BJP is all set to start preparations for the ensuing state Assembly elections to be held early next year.

The party leaders here said BJP North East in-charge general secretary Thawarchand Gehlot would come here along with other party office bearers to boost the morale of the workers.

A political conference would be held at the party office here tomorrow to discuss issues before the party.

The party has not been able to conduct organisational elections in the state since last few years and BJP leaders had admitted that most of the leaders had left BJP to join other parties.

In the recent local bodies election in the state the BJP was not able to perform well as it faced threats from the militant outfits to expel former Party President Th Chaoba from the party.
