Ashok Leyland sales up 39% in Sept'06

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Hinduja Group Flagship Ashok Leyland has reported a 39 per cent increase in sales for the month of September at 8,155 units as compared to 5,875 in the corresponding month last year.

Domestic sales during the month were up 44 per cent at 7,603 vehicles as against 5,284 in September 2005.

However, company's export during the month recorded a fall of about seven per cent at 552 units in comparison to 591 vehicles sold in September last year.

Ashok Leyland recorded an increase of 31 per cent in its cumulative sales for the period of April to September. During the period, it sold 34,066 units as compared to 25,933 during the same period last year.

Cumulative exports for the period were up 25 per cent at 2,843 from 2,282 vehicles in the corresponding month last year.
