Three more cases confirmed postive for dengue in city
Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) Even as the Chandigarh Health Department continued its massive drive to tackle dengue cases, three more cases tested positive for dengue in the city today.
As many as 58 suspected dengue cases were admitted to PGI, 32 in Government Medical College Hospital, and 16 in other hospital. Out of these, only six cases have confirmed positive for dengue so far, official sources said.
The administration served notices under section-2 of Epidemic Disease Act 1897, to 130 house owners in different parts of Chandigarh for creating mosquito breeding places inside their houses.
Epidemiological surveys, survey of fever cases and entomological investigations were undertaken by various teams in different parts of the city. More than 3000 mosquito genic situations were checked and treated, especially in labour colonies and low lying areas of the city.
As a part of the drive, the Pepsu Roadways, Haryana Roadways, Punjab, Roadways and Chandigarh Transport Undertaking have been requested to cover tyres with tarpauline so as to prevent the breeding of Aedes mosquito.
Fogging operations were carried out yesterday and today in certain areas of the union territory.
