Supporters of Nalin Bhatt form political front in Surat

Surat, Oct 5 (UNI) Supporters of the rebel BJP leader Nalin Bhatt have formed a political front in Surat, to raise their issues.

The front named Surat Vikas Samity has organised a protest march and dharna in front of Surat Municipal Corporation, ''against the mismanagement of flood relief and rehabilitation work.'' Interestingly it was Nalin Bhatt who inaugurated the dharna here yesterday. He also accompanied the workers to submit a memorandum to the Corporation Mayor, sources said.

Later addressing a press conference in the city Mr Bhatt came down heavily on Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Water Resources minister Narottam Patel, for ''mishandling the flood situation.'' Terming the recent flood as a man made disaster, Mr Bhatt alleged that the government had failed in reaching the flood affected people and offering proper compensation to them.

Sources say that even though senior BJP leaders refrained from joining Mr Bhatt in his Surat campaign, many in the party support him behind the doors.
