Singapore shows interest in investing in tourism
Puducherry, Oct 5: Industrialists in Singapore have evinced interest in investing in Tourism and heritage conservation, Singapore Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Information, Culture and Arts Balaji Sadasivan said today.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Sadasivan who heads a delegation to the union territory of Puducherry said his visit was a follow up to the visit of Puducherry Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao to Singapore last month.
He said during his visit, Mr Rao visited the Santosa Island and the Singapore urban renewable authorities had given him a presentation. The delegation had called on the Lt Governor Mukut Mithi, Chief Minister N Rangasamy and his cabinet colleagues and conducted discussions with them on various collaborative ventures.
He said Singapore would like to have collaborative ventures in Tourism development, Infrastructure development, IT and education and added that he had extended an invitation to the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues to visit Singapore to discuss how the matter could be proceeded.
