Shobha Yatra: K'taka Govt to abide by HC ruling
Mysore, Oct 5: The Karnataka Government will abide by the High Court decision on holding Shobha Yatra at Bababudangiri hills in Chikmagalur district, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said today.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the Government had discussed the issue at a coordination committee meeting of the coalition parties, JD(S) and BJP, yesterday, besides the State Advocate General, Law Secretary and other legal experts. ''Any decision will only be within the framework of the court decision,'' he added.
Mr Kumaraswamy said it was not an individual decision, but both coalition partners should take a final decision, which should not be harmful to anyone. His party did not want to reap any political mileage out of the issue, he maintained.
Declining to comment to a suggestion that the BJP was playing vote bank politics on the issue, he said the main aim of the Government was to resolve the issue and exuded confidence that it would be solved soon.
