Shiv Sena to launch agitation against power tariff hike on Oct 8

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) The Shiv Sena will launch an agitation against recent hike in power rates for Suburban Mumbai by Reliance Energy Limited.

A statement issued by the party secretary today said, Shiv Sena workers led by Opposition leader in Legislature Assembly, Ramdas Kadam will stage a morcha on October 8 at Reliance Energy Centre, Borivali, while other senior leaders like Subhash Desai, Gajanan Kirtikar will lead agitations at Goregaon and Dindoshi offices of the REL respectively.

The party in the statement alleged that 40 percent increase in power rates would affect suburban public severely. Also some small scale industrial units could be forced to shut their shops due to unaffordable power and in such a scenario thousands of workers are likely to loose their jobs.
