Security tightened outside Varanasi Airport

Varanasi, Oct 5 (UNI) In light of a serious security threat of possible hijack of Nepal-bound flights by ultras, the police has stepped up security on the outer zone of Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport here.

Intensive checks and round-the-clock patrolling in areas edging the airport have been put in place, following deliberations between Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and district police higher ups, Police Superintendent (Rural) L K Singh said today.

Recently, the CISF officials entrusted with security at the airport had discussed enhancing police security in areas edging the airport, especially at parking lot.
