PPA for Sasan and Mundra projects to start
New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the country's two Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs) at Sasan in Madhya Pradesh and Mundra in Gujarat will be signed by the beneficiary states and the shell companies on Monday.
With 4000 MW capacity, each project has already faced successive rounds of pre-bid consultations with qualified bidders in the presence of representatives of procurers--CERC, Power Ministry and Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
The initialing of PPAs for 8000 MW capacity addition in the private sector through competitive tariff-based bidding marks the beginning of a new approach to capacity addition which will facilitate private investment at a faster pace and provide power at the competitive rates.
