Nine new cases of suspected dengue report at PGI
Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) Nine new cases of suspected dengue fever were reported at the PGIMER here today, taking the total number of referal patients to 34.
Five of the fresh cases have come from Saharanpur (UP), two each from Punjab and Haryana, a PGI press release stated.
No fresh suspected case has been reported from the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The reports of all the nine cases are awaited.
Meanwhile four out of ten positive adult patients who had tested positive for dengue till yesterday were discharged from the PGI today. The remaining patients admitted in the hospital reported no significant complications.
The PGI authorities have requested all the patients suffering from fever to report to their nearest primary care physician or family physician. The physicians have also been requested not to send any patient without significant clinical complications and significant fall in platelet count to the PGI.
