Kumaraswamy dares Siddaramaiah to prove allegations

Mysore, Oct 5 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today challenged former Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah to prove his allegations against him and his party that they were bribing the electorate of Chamundeswari Assembly seat, set to go to polls shortly.

Speaking at various villages in the constituency, he said that if the allegations were proved, his party would not field a candidate against Mr Siddaramaiah in the byelection. He came down heavily on Mr Siddaramaiah for failing to take up development of his own constituency despite holding the Finance portfolio for seven years.

Mr Kumaraswamy said the JD(S) did not want any postponment of the byelection and it was prepared for the battle of ballots. The constituency faced plenty of problems which needed to be addressed.

Mr Siddaramaiah had been unnecessarily creating confusion in the minds of people that he was playing caste politics, he alleged.

Earlier, the Chief Minister started his whirlwind visit of over 20 villages in the constituency for two days after offering pooja to the Goddess Chamundeswari, the principal deity of the city, atop the Chamundi hills.
