Kanakadurga Devasthanam's revenue at Rs 1.63 cr

Vijayawada, Oct 5: The Kanakadurga Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri hill has registered an income of Rs 1.63 crore during the nine-day Navarathri festival compared to Rs 1.61 crore registered last year.

Talking to UNI here yesterday, Devasthanam Executive Officer E Gopala Krishna Reddy said the major share of revenue came through the sale of darshan tickets, laddus, special poojas and sending 'prasadam' packets by post.

Mr Reddy said this year about 1,39,000 prasadam packets were send through speed post.

About 12 lakh pilgrims visited the temple during the nine-day Navarathri festival, he added.
