Jenil, Namita enter main draw

Vijayawada, Oct 5 (UNI) Jenil Shah of Gujarat and Namita Khedkar of Maharashtra moved into the main draw of junior Boys and Girls singles defeating Akash Damle of Maharashtra and Shamika V Desai of Karnataka in the qualifying rounds of the national ranking table tennis championship here today.

In the Boy's section, Jenil Shah, after losing the first game, bounced back to trounce Damle 9-11,11-4,11-6,11-8.

In the girl's section Namita defeated Shamika in straight games 11-7,11-6,11-9.

The other qualifers for the main draw in boy's section includes Muthukrishnan, Sushmit Sriram, S Prasanna and R Senthilkumar of Tamil Nadu, Dheeraj Rai of Maharashtra, K Vivek Vardhan of Andhra Pradesh, and Somraj Roy of North Bengal.

In the girl's section, Tonanya Dutta, Moushmi Sanyal, Anumita Tarafdar of North Bengal, D V Senha and N Vidya of Tamil Nadu, Mallika Bhandarkar of Maharashtra and Samayeta Mondal of West Bengal qualified for the main draw.
