Taipei, Oct 5 (UNI) Rahil Gangjee was not in his elements as he carded a nightmarish three-over 75 to be tied for the 44th spot as all the Indians ended up over-par in the opening round of the 300,000 dollar Taiwan Open here today.

Gangjee, who finished second in the 500,000 dollar Mercuries Masters last week, struggled at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club and was a stroke behind compatriots Harvinder Gupta and Digvijay Singh.

Harvinder and Digvijay carded similar two-over 74 scores for the tied 32nd position.

Arjun Singh stood at the tied 56th spot with the worst of all the Indians five-over 77 in his opening round.

At the top of the leaderboard, Australia's Kane Webber fired an impressive five-under 67 to take the early first round lead.

Webber, playing in his maiden season on the Asian Tour, enjoyed a blemish free round as he held a one-stroke lead over local favourite and former winner Tsai Chi-huang.
