Dravidian parties show no concern for people: Vijayakanth
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 5 (UNI) Popular Tamil actor-turned-politician and founder of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) Vijayakanth today charged that the Dravidian parties, which had ruled the state for 50-long-years had not shown any concern for the welfare of the people, especially the downtrodden.
Addressing wayside meetings in the city, as part of his whirlwind election campaign to canvass votes for DMDK candidates, he said, if the people apply thought, they could change the fate of the state.
It was not compulsory that only DMK or AIADMK should rule Tamil Nadu, he added.
Launching a scathing attack on DMK, he alleged that DMK always said they had no aspire for power but, in the previous parliamentary elections they forged alliance with BJP and got birth in the Union Cabinet. While joining hands with BJP they held underground talks with Congress and joined the Congress alliance and sought key portfolios. This shows how much desire they had for power, he said.
He said if the DMDK men were elected, it would provide all basic amenities, which the Dravidian parties had failed to do. He charged that the DMK government had failed to control deadly diseases like chikungunya, malaria and dengue. They could not even annihilate mosquito menace, he added.
Keeping in mind the future of your children, please vote for DMDK, he said.
